Some days ago after I had completed my morning bible commentary study and was in contemplation of what I had just finished reading, a thought popped into my head. It seemed random at the time, but perhaps it wasn’t. I feel it is a concept I believe I should share.
The thought was; ‘God sees us through Jesus-colored glasses’.
I found that to be an interesting reflection (no pun intended!) and pondered what the meaning might be. Because of the sacrificial death of the Messiah Jesus Christ on the cross, Jesus willingly took upon himself the required death sentence that is intended for we humans because we sin against God. Therefore we can’t have any type of relationship with him because God abhors sin and can’t be in the company of it. The death of God’s son Jesus, who had never committed any sin at all, removed all condemnation for committed sin from those of us who truly believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and accept his death and forgiveness as the redemption price paid from our own wrong-doing. We then get to enjoy everlasting life in His presence. Our sins are literally forgotten as if we never did anything wrong. We are redeemed!
It’s as if God looks at the believer using a pair of special glasses and sees Jesus in his pure righteousness standing in front of him instead of an ugly sinner saved by grace. When God looks at us, he sees Jesus. Jesus is figuratively covering us up so God only sees righteousness and purity. That is the price Jesus paid for us when he laid down his earthly life. Praise God he came back from the dead and is interceding for us at this very moment!
When that time comes and we get taken up to the throne room of heaven, whether by death or rapture we will be escorted to the front of the room to be held accountable for our lives. Then one of two outcomes will take place. Perhaps this is what will transpire; the sinner who has repented and given their life over to Jesus will hear Jesus speaking to the Father saying, “Father, this formerly condemned sinner is one that had accepted your gift of grace and believed on me. This one had my righteousness placed upon her and is qualified to live with us in eternity.” God the Father, taking Jesus at his word, smiles and welcomes the ex-sinner home. Then all of heaven rejoices with the one who has now been given eternal life and is escorted into glory.
And for the one who had refused the gift of grace, forgiveness and life in Jesus? The large doors at the rear of the room blow open and the crashing noise of a stinking dark whirlwind of smoke comes through making way to the front of the throne room while spitting out many dark and evil screeching demons. Jesus turns to the Father and tells him “this condemned sinner refused to accept and believe in me, did not turn from wickedness and there is no righteousness placed upon her. She is disqualified from living with us in eternity.” God the Father, taking Jesus at his word, looks directly at the condemned sinner and tells the demons, who now have their sharp claws sunk deep into the unrepentant sinner’s body, “Take this unbeliever away to hell where there is everlasting darkness and punishing torment by the devil and his angels.” Immediately, the screaming sinner is dragged into the dark whirlwind which makes its way back through the doors, which then slam tightly closed. And there is silence in all of heaven.
Of which outcome do you see yourself being a participant?
I hope this post makes sense to you and my attempt at explaining myself gets the point across. I played around with some AI images in a photo imaging editor program to see if I could get the message of what the saving grace of Jesus might look like in a visual. It’s an okay depiction I guess but it doesn’t really do justice to capture the concept.
A New Name In Glory
There’s a new name written down in glory,
And it’s mine,
oh yes, it’s mine!
And the white-robed angels sing the story,
“A sinner has come home.”
For there’s a new name written down in glory,
And it’s mine,
oh yes, it’s mine!
With my sins forgiven I am bound for heaven,
Nevermore to roam.

That is an interesting way of looking at how one enters the heaven doors! And it makes sense!!

Sometimes I need to open the valve and let all the words and thoughts gush out so the universe can return to homeostasis! 😉

What beautiful reality for us believers! My only sadness is for the friends and family that don’t believe.

I agree, Marijean! Don’t give up hope on your family and friends. Keep praying for them! 🙏🏻 You never know what God has planned. 💚
